Say hello to the future of reading on the web. We're happy to introduce a new feature for WordPress.com home pages: infinite scrolling.

Speed and performance are key on the modern web: new content loads in quickly without a full page reload. Instead of the old way of navigating down a page by scrolling and then clicking a link to get to the next page, waiting for a page refresh -- the document model of the web -- infinite scrolling pulls the next set of posts automatically into view when the reader approaches the bottom of the page, more like an application.

this is going to make scrolling blog posts a thing of the super charged future. sounds great to me. would like to see in action on my own blog and all blogs enacted: "To Infinity and Beyond." jen

The White Rabbit is my spirit animal

Reblogged from Magpie & Whale:

At some point early on in the process of writing Innogen and the Hungry Half, I made an attempt at devising an ideal and reasonable production schedule, one that would more or less keep my usual stressors at bay. It’s so sensible, I’m amazed it came to me at all. The schedule looks like this:

Tuesday: Having published a chapter at 9 a.m., I may spend the day alerting readers of the update and taking notes to outline the next chapter.

The White Rabbit Is My Spirit Animal. i found this post through serendipity. what a cool place to discover. i've always felt an affinity for The White Rabbit. i like the time management chart, also. how original and creative. that’s how i found "The White Rabbit Is My Spirit Animal" through images on google. going down the rabbit whole. looking for things related to the white rabbit in alice in wonderland. this blog is amazing. while there i also found something that will expand the mind even further. a link to a movie trailer for a film i am not at all familiar with, titled "Mirrormask." i checked it out on YouTube videos. it is like a live/animated version of a salvador dali painting having a trippy experience. it is adapted from a Neil Gaiman book. posted the video on my "all things cinema" page. check it out. this film definitely has me curious enough to want to track in down. just the sort of maginatve story my s/o would also enjoy immensely. in future i intend to check this blog site out more closely. there is a feeling i get that it would make for a marvelous adventure. jennifer ~the secret keeper~ ps. ah, ha! not only did my s/o know this film but it is already in our film collection. guess what we are watching tonight? yep!

white rabbit to samba pa ti

white rabbit to samba pa ti

the coolest psychedelic song ever “go ask alice” – “i think she’ll know” and the sweetest guitar playing, it finds your soul & takes residence. had to replace my 1st choice of videos but the 2nd highlighted links when clicked will take you to my original choices. what i found to replace them are quite good also. the top highlight almost, if not as good a selection. it’s like having a mini-jukebox.

finding music videos that will work on my post from that era was pretty much impossible but like in The Life Of Brian: “Always Look on the Bright Side of Life.” this music is the ultimate enjoyment. it was fun listening to all the choices. just watch out for some bad acid dropping videos. my computer crashed on one of the santana videos for “samba pa ti.”

now i am going to see if i can post this. i have been having some major trouble with wordpress for the past week and more recently in the past few days. it tells me when i go to post that the post cannot be found. wordpress support is no help. my home page is screwed up also. so i apologize to all the comments i haven’t gotten to answer. the hypomanic/compulsive need to fix things is on overdrive. haven’t been to bed for about two days now. i better not be up when my s/o gets up or i am in such major trouble.

White Rabbit – Jefferson Airplne (2nd choice but just as cool)

White Rabbit – Jefferson Airplane with Grace Slick – Woodstock August 17th, 1969

this one’s for all the Alice fans out there who couldn’t help but chase after the White Rabbit but “damn” could never ever catch that son of a bunnie. wasn’t grace slick the hottest back then.

Me & Bobby McGee – Janis Joplin (loved her so much)

Me & Bobby McGee – Janis Joplin

maybe some “Me & Bobby McGee,” Janis Joplin was on my first trip with me, also. in fact, the first time i heard her i was watching the colors of the stars stream across the sky. and the leaves were growing on the trees. and damned if it wasn’t in the middle of january in northern new england. mighty cold night but i don’t remember feeling a thing.

All Along the Watchtower – Jimi Hendrix (his guitar blew me away. jimi had soul)

All Along the Watchtower – Jimi Hendrix

i have a brother that when he was a teenager his idol was jimi heendrix and i am speaking the honest truth when i tell you that my brother had it in his soul to play with the same depth and intricacy as jimi. it was uncanny. unfortunately, we are no longer connected and i do not believe he is even able to conceive of playing any musical instrument at this time. if you’ve seen the movie “shine,” “a brilliant mind” and “rain man”you will understand.

Samba Pa Ti – Carlos Santana (one night while stoned & there was 8-track, i put in the 8-track with this song & tripped to it all night long. you will not believe where my dreams took me on this music.)

Samba Pa Ti – Carlos Santana

i don’t think there is any piece of music from back in the revolutionary hippie stoner times where everyone of our generation, well, almost everybody, just knew how to chill to it.

hope you enjoy the music. it is quite the trip back in time. i was so young back then and lived as close to the edge as possible without completely falling off. by jennifer kiley ~the secret keeper~

spread the word that you stand against hatred and homophobia

We Shall Overcome – Bruce Springstein

Pete Seger’s version of We Shall Overcome is amazing. it will give you the chills.
We Shall Overcome – Pete Seeger

this song stands for all people overcoming the injustices brought upon them. hatred, bullying, homophobia, teen suicide need to stop. we shall overcome. listening and singing this song gives me the chills. i feel that is from all the ghosts who have stood tall and fought for all people to be able to say “we shall overcome” and have it truly and really happening throughout the world over. WE SHALL OVERCOME SOMEDAY! i’d like that day to be now. how do you get the prejudice and bigotry to stop? why do some people feel this way in their hearts? where is there room for love to live within them when all they can find to speak out loud are words that hurt, harm and kill other people?

Blowin’ In the Wind – Peter, Paul & Mary

Blowin’ In the Wind – Peter, Paul & Mary

i feel that Blowin’ In the Wind is singing about when will people open their eyes to see what is happening in the world around them. developing an awareness that there are things that are so wrong with the way that some people treat other people who are different in a cruel, dismissive or violent way. they either express themselves through verbal, emotional or physical violence and sometimes a combination of all three. teenagers become so emotionally damaged by the treatment they receive, they feel the only alternative to escaping their nightmares is to take their own lives in order to find peace. being bombarded with hatred and violence through the social media or during school hours or being secretly taped while having intimate moments with someone of the same sex and then the video being released online so that anyone could see it. it is difficult enough realizing that you are gay or lesbian but to have your privacy constantly being thrust out into the open in a derogatory manner is not only humiliating but the intentions from the victimizers is to denigrate your life style so that you doubt who you are as being an acceptable human being with feelings the same as everyone else.

Bridge Over Troubled Waters – Simon & Garfunkel

i chose Bridge Over Troubled Waters for its ability to show comfort. when i was a teenager this song brought me great solace when i felt the pain of being different and isolated with no support around me and when i didn’t feel that there was anything to live for. listening to this song would make me feel the presence of someone’s spirit holding me and helping me to temporarily feel safe. it helped my mind to focus on the optimism coming from the lyrics. also, the way simon and garfunkel sang it was so uplifting and emotionally moving. feeling the music touching my soul made me feel for the moment support and a relief from the pain.
