something magical this way comes
by jennifer kiley
the trip tonight will be more visual than words. i am hoping to create an atmosphere of mystical sites and places and things, oh my. where to begin? tonight there is a full moon. so, why not an image that feels like you could reach out your fingers and feel the smooth surface of the moon rocks. shall i reach into my magician’s bag and make appear- presto – a moon so astrologically connected to my soul being of the sign of cancer. the tides are effected. the moods are effected. the werewolves come out to chase after bella to rescue her. a little “twilight” humor. oh, what the hell. all creatures come out to bay at the moon. when one can walk at night from the reflection of her brightness, how magical is that? i present to you the moon.

this is an image i found today that reminds me when hans solo was frozen in “star wars.” this silver dragon appears to have met the same fate with the silversmith trapping her and then using her as a magnificently adorned gate to block entrance from strangers with unknown motives. she is a majestic creature. it is possible she is under a spell and that at any moment someone will speak the language that holds the magic words to release her. “leviosa” damn, that’s not it. well, here she is. if there is anyone who can release her like arthur released “excaliber” from the stone, then head on out to dublin, ireland to give it a try.

the purple butterfly. a beautiful creature. magical, too. have you ever heard of the butterfly effect. there was a film made about it. a young man goes back in time to try to change an event. it wouldn’t matter what event. just altering the past will have a rippling effect throughout the future of time and the cause and effect principle. if you change on infinitesimal element while you are in the past. it will have monumental effect into the future. it may cause you not to be born. or hitler could win wwii. anything is possible. many films have been made dealing with this phenomena. “it’s a wonderful life.” “frequency.” “groundhog’s day (techniquely speaking). “the butterfly effect” where he actually keeps returning to the past and finds that each time screws up the present more severely. “sliding doors” with gwyneth paltrow. she has two realities going on at the same time. one where she misses the underground and the other where she is on time and makes her train (highly recommend). run, lola, run. a brilliant film. the fact that lola bumps into someone instead of passing by may lead to a painful death after suffering paralysis. as such, seemingly inconsequential actions can be seen to have drastic long-term results. and lets not forget “back to the future” and how mcfly almost terminates his whole family out of existence.
the “butterfly effect,” the concept that small events can have large, widespread consequences. a massive storm might have its roots in the faraway flapping of a tiny butterfly’s wings.
translated into mass culture, the butterfly effect has become a metaphor for the existence of seemingly insignificant moments that alter history and shape destinies. typically unrecognized at first, they create threads of cause and effect that appear obvious in retrospect, changing the course of a human life
no one who travels into the past could ever return to the same version of reality he or she had come from and could have therefore not been able to travel back in time in the first place, which would create a phenomenon known as time paradox. this situation happens because of time travel. A time traveler goes to the past, and does something that would prevent him from time travel in the first place. If he does not go back in time, he does not do anything that would prevent his traveling to the past, so time travel would be possible for him. However, if he goes back in time and does something that would prevent the time travel, he will not go back in time. Thus each possibility seems to imply its own negation – a type of logical paradox.
all from butterflies flapping their wings a wind storm can occur in any part of the world. i always felt that butterflies were pretty amazing.

Stonehenge was produced by a culture that left no written records. Many aspects of Stonehenge remain subject to debate. The multiplicity of theories, some of them very colourful, are often called the “mystery of Stonehenge”. A number of myths surround the stones.
suggested that Stonehenge was a place of healing – the primeval equivalent of Lourdes. they argue that this accounts for the high number of burials in the area and for the evidence of trauma deformity in some of the graves. however they do concede that the site was probably multifunctional and used for ancestor worship as well.
the curative properties of the stones was also what gave the idea that Stonehenge was constructed as a funerary monument. Whatever religious, mystical or spiritual elements were central to Stonehenge, its design includes a celestial observatory function, which might have allowed prediction of eclipse, solstice, equinox and other celestial events important to a contemporary religion.
another theory, that came out in 2012, suggests that the monument was intended to unify the different peoples of the British island. this theory suggests that the massive amount of labour involved in the construction of Stonehenge necessitated the inter-regional cooperation.

I love all these images and ideas. Sometimes we make seemingly small decisions with our lives that have disastrous consequences and wish with all our hearts that we could travel back in time to reverse such a decision. Living with wrong decisions is so painful. It is often hard to come to terms with. Compassion for Self is the key. But even that is difficult when we expect so much of ourselves.
Stonehenge is a place of special significance for me, also. Oh Yes! It is a place of power…even still, though trampled by insensitive tourism and chunks of stone taken as souvenirs, kiosks and vending of New Age trinkets does not quell the pulsating power beneath that ground. If you stand firm, you feel it.
there is something fundamentally wrong with being a tourist. if i went to some place like Stonehenge. i would want to sit peacefully in as quiet a place as possible and to feel the power. i believe there are many places that are centers of power. i would respect the energy that has been in the location through the centuries. i would imagine Stonehenge would be a source of great energy for you. i also believe you would share energy together. you will have to tell me sometime the special significance, that’s only if you want to share it.
going back in time or connecting to an alternate universe or bilateral timeline just off from ours. to live in both and have your life be so different. there are many things i would change in my past but there is so much that i have learned from it. when i was growing up i became aware of a theory that the artist needed to have experienced pain or feel pain in order to plum the depths of her psyche. that is where the treasure of creativity lies. also, i believe in the myth that before you are born or even considered for returning to this plane of consciousness that we live in, we are given the opportunity to choose our parents and our life. whether their is a story that is fulling developed before your soul is dropped in or transformed into the baby the moment she is born, who knows whether this is fact or fiction. my answer is that i choose my parents and my life because i wanted the grandmother that was given to me. the love she gave to me was beyond anything i ever experienced anywhere else in my childhood..i would never want to give that up. i am sure that your granddaughter feels the same about you. you have a specialness to you niamh. a truly generous nature. and you are so filled with love. you have made the transformation. so the only thing i would change about my past is i would want to have everything made possible that i could have lived with my grandparents and if i did then my grandmother would never have died when she did. i would have been there to protect her.
but we technically can’t go back. it was so comforting though when she would visit me in my dreams. we would just comfort each other. no words. just closeness. i do have a fascination with time travel. a favorite film is “somewhere in time.” if you like unusual love stories, this one is so mindblowingly amazing. i have watched it over and over. i use to go on youtube and play the videos of certain scenes and the music with scenes in the background. my favorite line from the film & book is: “Come Back To Me.” & the words the character Elise McKenna utters on stage when she goes off her lines. that moment in the film takes my breath away. it stars Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour. fantasy is what dreams are made of.
Lovely. I loathe being a tourist also. It is so cheap, somehow.
I wandered among the great standing stones of Stonehenge when I was a kid–back when that was still a possibility, to lay hands on history….an experience I carry with me still and always.
at such a powerful place one must wonder whose footprints did you walk over and what kind of power did they hold before the people of today trampled the site. you were fortunate to walk amongst the spirits that probably hang out there, esp. when you were able to visit.
i know you were a child but were you able to get a sense of the magnificent power of Stonehenge on your visit? were you allowed to touch the stones? if you did, what senses did you feel contained within them?
it is definitely a place i would love to make contact with but i wouldn’t want all the tourists to be present. that would ruin the vibration of the spiritual energy that probably fills Stonehenge with power.
It is a place for dragons still!
ah, shawn will love to hear that. who knows, i don’t know how i would get to the British Isles but I have always wanted to travel & live there. i only like to fly in planes where i am the pilot. otherwise, the thought of something that heavy staying in the sky logically does not make sense. and i’ve seen the film Titanic in all of the version w/ rose & jack in the theatre twice. plus i get sea sick. maybe a friendly dragon could fly us over. this is a problem that needs solving. i want to go to Paris & walk in the rain (light) at night when there are no people. around. shawn laughed at me when i said that. she said there are always people around in Paris. my retort was: “what about at 2 in the morning. she laughed. Tuscany & India are also on my agenda. i would want to be one of the people. not just visiting. lovely fantasies.
the dragons that hang in the stones are mystical, ancient and waiting to reawaken…lol! Perhaps I should waken one with a druidic wand and tell her to go and get you.
oh, i would so love that. that you would unleash your powers to send through to the magical, mystical times and awaken the dragons. then to have them carry me and shawn to your land. that would be so magnificent. ah, so you do have the wand and power of the druids. i always suspected that was the truth of your power.
you are so marvelous. xox jen
Lol! I keep my secrets well.
i do know about secrets being the secret keeper & also, i am quite good at keeping them. mine & others. you’re showing a bit of the irish humor & i love it. it’s nice being connected in that way & in many other ways. once again dawn has well passed & i am still awake but not for long. have a great day. i’ll be back around in several hours.
Absolutely. You can hear them rumbling through the stones.
