everything you feel
by jennifer kiley
revised july 25th, 2012

everything you feel,
that’s your world,
made only of love.

nothing else matters.
why can’t you see?
she’s right next to you.

sometimes it’s hard to love,
to feel free to love.
just knowing what love is.

you want to love.
you’ve even found love.
but loving her, it isn’t easy.

she is quite special.
and deep in your heart,
you know her love is real.

the problem is you’re scared.
the feelings’ real for you.
it makes you want to run.

take a long, deep breath.
look deep inside your heart.
it’s not going to break this time.

i don’t want to lose her.
      love gets confusing.
      it is impossible to read
      and understand.
      how can one person
      have incredibly deep feelings.
      you feel the same.
      one day, though,
      they withdraw it.
      in its place is amnesia.
      what went before is erased.
      no memories exist.
      what remains is pain
      and the lost memories.

ps. you inspired this response. i didn’t know i would write a short poem but it is where i am and what i feel at this moment. thank you for your wonderful words. for some reason the combination of your comment and the poem i wrote in the post triggered this poem i just wrote. where it came from i do not know but my muse sent it through onto the page. jen
