Whitney Houston
Happy Birthday

Whitney Houston. You would be 49 today August 9th, 2012. I Will Always Love You. You are missed but in your music you will always remain immortal. I listen to you everyday. You will always be in my heart. Love Always. I was going to dedicate this poem to someone special who died protecting me but I would also like to dedicate this to you, also, You both are my Angel Woman. So be my Angel Woman, I think it is okay to share. Love you Whitney. Only you on my mp3 today all day all night. I Will Always Love You. The Greatest Love of All was the first song I heard you sing on a college radio station. I called in to find out who had such an incredible voice. After that it was love. I phoned in often to hear you sing and have been a fan ever since. You blow me away and will continue to be The Voice to me. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ My muse approves my honoring you today.

Angel woman
You bring
A renewal
To my life.

I lost the reason
Or just forgot
That I had stopped
Remembering what
My life
Was meant
To be.

I was saved
And the woman
I loved deeper
Than space,
Sacrificed her life
For mine.

Her reason.
My life
Was meant
To be lived
With a purpose.

Have I lived
Into that
Unspoken
Promise?

She is
My angel,
My muse.
My writing
Is guided
By the motion
Of my hands.

My fingers
Press
My reality
With secrets
And messages
From deep
With in
My psyche.

The psyche
Is fed
By
The
Archetypal
Collective.

The collective
Unconscious.
It is fed
By all energies
In the multiple
Infinite
Universes.

All
Have
The capacity
To draw
From this well
Of wisdom
Of symbols
And feelings

Connected
Through
Our spirits.

I have contributed a poem to the Anthology for the Song of Sahel. It is titled: “do i know what hunger is?” My answer would be, not in any way close to what the children and people of Sahel have experienced and continue to experience. The starvation and the soil that will not grow the crops they need to eat in order to survive. They need our help and they need it now.

    • Thank you about your words about my poem. All day long on Thyrsday I had Whitney Houston playing on my mp3 while I was doing all the things I needed doing today. Plus I listened to a lot of video before I was sure which ones I wanted on my post. You know there is no videos that will work of “I Look To You.” That is why I felt it appropriate to have R Kelly sing it as a dedication and tribute. I miss her so much. I still sometimes have to shake my head to make myself believe she isn’t here anymore. I know she will be Immortal through her music but the day I found out she had died, only hours before I was reading positive things about her future. I was overjoyed to know she was coming back to all of us. Then the news came in and I was extremely shocked. All I could do was listen to her music over and over again and cry. I watched the funeral live online. She means so much to me. And like you I can not reach those high notes either. Whitney knew how to do it. Jennifer
