Soon You Will Be Born
By Jennifer Kiley

A baby is on the way
He will find love
From the beginning
His parents want him so
They’ve wanted him
Long before they even knew
Long before they ever
Even made him
He has his own name
It is a good one
One he will be proud
To call his own
He will love his parents
Not just because they are his own
But because they
Are going to be proud of him
They’re going to love him
Whoever he is
He will arrive on Earth
Any day now
Maybe even tomorrow
And I will be part
Of his very loving life
He will be special
Not just to his parents
But also to me and you
Welcome to the world
Little boy soon to arrive
I’m writing these words
Because I feel so much love for you
Yes for you young little one
Your life is almost ready
Soon you will have arrived

Musical Notes Abstract
Voices In the Night
By Jennifer Kiley
9.17.12
Voices in the night
Friendly sounds
And familiar
They calm my mind
Bring me back from time
Tonight I spoke
So loud and shouting
Shouting out my life
Nightmares I lived through
Not trying
To compare myself to you
My pain is mine
We’re not the same
But both lived our lives
Inside our own pain
Now I am living here
In present time not past
Though childhood touches
Haunt me now
They come back from the past
I live in highs
Sometimes lows
Which triggers shows
No one is sure
No one really knows
Professionals
They try to heal
They listen talk
I am my self
When all the time
Feel like someone else
The high times I write so well
The low times I write so slow
But in the low times
I write so slow and long
To keep my soul from hell
When I am down
I want to drown
To bleed my veins
To stop the pain
I write the rhymes so well
A special friend is helping me
She’s showing me her trust
I see I’m not alone
She is out there
She hears my sound
When I feel the pain
Afraid to shout out to someone
But depression pulls me underground
A place so deep inside my wounds
I couldn’t make a sound
Trying to change my way
To trust a friend I trust
A friend whose patience
Surprises me not her
Her love goes beyond what must
With her help I’ve found my world
Full circle with her love
I find from others
A magic place
Where love just reappears
New friends I’ve found
More open feeling trust
I feel the love returned in kind
That once I’d feared and run
I stay seek and I do find
More open feelings
More secure
Past lies have been undone
My life feels like we won this time
Until we fight again
