Sadness
beyond grief
by jennifer kiley
does one get beyond grief
or does it sink
into the unconscious
to be stored away?
or become part
of memories
lost and blown away?
life eventually
distracts away
from what grief
bears down upon you.
time is only
a long extension
of a moment
that is broken up
by conscious
and unconscious breaks.
when you wake
it may be a new day
but the moment
has just continued
and you
rejoin it
once again.
