Reblogged from MacKENZIE's Dragonsnest:
Well, it is that time of year again. The apples are falling, the woolly-bears crawling, and Dragons and their people are getting together around the world to celebrate WAFDE's second annual Month of the Dragon.
As the last remaining founder of WAFDE, it falls to me and my ever-growing cadre of fellow dracophiles, to keep the association's traditions alive, the joy of Dragons spreading out across the known world(s).
I feel as though I have known dragons most of my life. I grew up with the terrible stories of how dragons were hunted and slaughtered because they were maligned with stories of being these terrible and dangerous creatures. Those stories were spread by those who wanted the world of the dragon to be erased from the true history of the creation of the universe and the role that dragons played in that and also in how dragons affected history throughout the early times. But those who took power wanted to wipe the dragns from the face of the earth. They were not successful. Hiding was a good alternative to the extinction of the species in all its forms. Only special people can see dragons. The person who wrote this blog knows of their existence quite well. October is now the month of the Dragon. What is in store for the celebration you will find that out by going to the blog site from which I reblogged this post and there will be ones to follow. http://mackenziesdragonsnest.wordpress.com/2012/10/01/the-world-association-for-dragons-everywhere-presents-the-2nd-annual-month-of-the-dragon/ follow it back and continue throughout the month of October to enjoy the festivities and the learning about dragons. Also, discover the books that Shawn MacKenzie has written about Dragons: "Dragon Keeper's Hand book" and her soon to be released: "Dragons for Beginners." Enjoy! with love and support, J.K. the secret keeper PS. There is a contest to win a copy of Ms. MacKenzie's new book: "Dragons for Beginners." And there may be future stories coming up during the celebration of October, the month of the Dragon.
